Frequently asked questions
- How do I create a rental lease agreement?
Sign into your Zillow Rental Manager account, select the Leases tab for the property you want to create a rental lease agreement for or enter the property address if creating a lease for a new property. From there, follow the step-by-step instructions to create a brand new lease agreement online. Lease agreement templates are currently only available in select regions.
- How do I upload a lease agreement?
To upload a lease, sign into your Zillow Rental Manager account and select the Manage tenants tab under My property. From there, click Get started and then click on Add my existing lease to upload a lease. Then, use dynamic fields to digitally update it with dates, text, check boxes and strike-throughs.
Our system will then generate a page where eSignature placeholders can be added, so you can begin requesting signatures from your tenants. Landlords can upload and electronically sign a lease agreement from anywhere in the US.- What makes a lease agreement legally binding?
By signing a lease, you and your tenant are agreeing to follow the terms and conditions outlined in the rental agreement. While our leases are signed electronically, rather than in person, eSignatures still create a legally binding and valid rental lease agreement.
- How much does it cost to create and sign a rental lease agreement online?
You can upload an existing rental lease or create a lease using our customizable rental lease agreement templates for free. There is no additional charge to send and sign a lease agreement online.
- How do I share and sign a lease agreement online?
After you upload or create a rental lease, you will be asked who the lease should be sent to and where in the document they should sign. A link to the rental lease is emailed to the renter(s), requesting their electronic signature(s). After all tenants have signed the rental lease, it is sent back to you to countersign. Rental Manager will notify you by email when the rental agreement is ready for you to sign.
