It's unfortunate you felt that way in your rental experience. As I had notified your Agent Kate that we had multiple applications & owners picked you as their 1st choice. In practice, we don't want to lose the next renter in waiting. I represented the owners. In the case you wanted to get into the house to do some measurement, the owners rejected it. Because we received an email from your agent Kate stating that another property you like better available now & you wanted to cancel the fully executed lease 5 days prior to lease starts without paying penalty. (Email available if needed) During the walk thru you found unclean spots on walls & refused to accept the conditions. Owner agreed to have those walls repainted. You still want to cancel the lease & you already talked to a lawyer. I said only thing to you directly at site was " it's your right to legal counsel but any lawyers will respect the terms of signed lease" It's really simple matter of facts.
