Unfortunately, some people do not pass the screening process for a property and some of those people become belligerent and act in a vindictive fashion, as is the case here. As a fiduciary to my client, the Landlord in this situation, my duty is to protect that landlord's interests. An application screening that uncovers a troubled rental history and poor credit history will be rejected. It is worse when the applicant did not disclose some of those facts on the signed application. The ultimate decision to reject is and was made by the Landlord.
