Born and raised in production agriculture, her family is involved in corn, wheat, hay and cattle production. Throughout her youth she was heavily involved in 4-H and FFA. This is where her family got involved in producing a purebred Simmental herd. Along with a commercial cow/calf operation her family is involved in raising seasonal stocker calves. Diamond T ranch is a member of American Simmental Association.
