I don't typically like to write bad reviews, especially of those who are friends of family, but I feel obliged to given the current situation. I hired Jeff to sell my condo in Bayonne, NJ due to a referral from my parents. Despite not agreeing with h...

Response from Jeffrey Lee on 12/23/2023

Dear Jeannie Mark, I hope this message finds you well. I recently came across your review today, and I wanted to address some of your concerns and provide some clarifications. First and foremost, I appreciate the opportunity to have worked with you on the sale of your one-bedroom condo in which you received the highest one-bedroom record sale well over the asking price in the building at the time! I want to assure you that my goal was to secure the highest possible price for your property while maintaining fairness and ethical standards throughout the entire process and that is exactly what I and every other professional did when selling your condo. I don't understand your disappointment, and I'd like to shed light on some key points mentioned in your disappointing review. To begin, your review is perceived as reckless, intentional, and negligent. I went above and beyond by significantly reducing my commission for you and saved you thousands of dollars because I truly respected your family and wanted to help in any way I possibly could and invested $500 in professional pictures with floor plans as I normally do. Those pictures were not yours and I had every right to reuse them without your permission based on the listing agreement. If it was so important you should have removed personal pictures before scheduling the photo shoot. These efforts were aimed at maximizing the value of your property and ensuring a successful transaction. Moreover, I reached out to your mom as a courtesy when I learned that the buyer was dissatisfied with the property and wished to sell it. Your mom told me that you were going to flip out when you found out the condo was being listed for a higher price 10 months later, and she was not kidding... I intended to keep you informed and navigate the situation of reselling smoothly and out of respect I called your mom first to see if they were interested in buying the condo because I knew it was a very emotional sale for you. It's important to clarify that the professional pictures and floor plans were a valuable investment made for the benefit of the property's marketability and were not intended for your personal use. Regarding your father's advice, I appreciate the insights he shared with me that he wanted you to wait a year and wanted nothing to do with the sale when you decided to sell and that you did not listen to your father's advice, I now know why he took this position with you. Understandably, his perspective differed from yours, and I respect both viewpoints. Real estate transactions involve various factors, and decisions are often made based on individual circumstances. I am also aware of the concern raised about the condo being relisted for a higher price within a year of the sale. It's essential to note that such decisions are made collaboratively, and clients are always given the choice. The marketing strategies, open houses, and legal aspects were discussed transparently throughout the entire process, and your active involvement in decision-making was crucial. Lastly, the other agent did not show up for his client's representation during the home inspection, and appraisal and also did not show up for the final walk through so I needed a witness and that is why I asked you or your mom to help me. I also went to your closing and picked up your check, delivered it in person to your mom with a $100 gift card from Home Depot for you, and thanked your mom. I called you after the tentative closing date and sent you a review for me but you never replied. I asked your mom a couple of weeks later is everything was alright with Jeannie and she said you were just busy as you were not returning my calls or providing a positive review like the dozens of others I received that help us agents. I regret any misunderstanding or dissatisfaction you may have experienced after the sale. My commitment has always been to provide the best service possible, and I am open to further discussing any specific issues you feel were not addressed appropriately with your parent in person as they are family friends for many, many years and my dad and your dad had the greatest respect for each other. Thank you for considering my perspective, and I am more than willing to engage in a constructive dialogue to address your concerns and find a resolution. Best regards, Jeannie Mark!
