Chugiak, AK.Local knowledgeProcess expertiseResponsivenessNegotiation skillsI feel compelled to share my experience with this broker who was the buyers agent as it was incredibly frustrating and disappointing throughout the process of selling our home. After many weeks of a back and forth, we verbally agreeing to a contract ...Response from Christina McVaney on 4/23/2025
Thank you for sharing your perspective, though I must respectfully correct several inaccuracies. I represented the buyers in this transaction, not you. The sale ultimately did not proceed because of a significant delay—approximately one full week—in receiving a clear response from the sellers regarding necessary repairs to both the septic system and well, which were identified during inspections. These are not minor issues and understandably caused my clients to reconsider their commitment to the property. During this waiting period, their interest in the home declined, and they chose to move on. That decision had nothing to do with dishonesty or a lack of communication on my part. To suggest that I was dishonest or using your property as a "backup plan" is completely unfounded. My clients were fully engaged and committed until the seller’s delay in addressing health and safety concerns made it clear that a resolution wasn’t coming in a timely manner. It’s worth noting that this wasn’t a matter of additional “hoops” or unreasonable demands—these were necessary steps to ensure the home was safe and livable. I remained responsive, professional, and transparent throughout the process. I understand the frustration that comes when a deal falls through, but placing blame on the other party when the facts don’t support that conclusion is neither fair nor productive. I wish you success in selling your home and hope future transactions are handled with clearer timelines and responsiveness to legitimate concerns raised by prospective buyers.
