Thank you for sharing this. For the record, your agent sent a message showing forth your desire to terminate the contract because you didn't get the price you wanted from the sellers I represented after negotiations were settled. Your agent specifically said that you didn't get the price you wanted for the sale of your home; therefore, if my seller did not reduce the price of their home sell by $20K, you would terminate the contract. Unfortunately, according to the contract, there is no allowance for renegotiating the contract because you were unable to sell your home for the price you so desired. In the spirit of representing my client, I Soley advised the sellers based on what was set forth in the contract that both parties signed, and ultimately, it was the seller's decision as to how they decided to proceed. This was not a decision that I made on behalf of the seller, nor was it the decision of the brokerage. Here's some advice for you in hindsight. Had you terminated the contract during the option period, your earnest deposit would have been refunded, no questions asked. I'm so sorry you were misadvised. If you so desire, you can revisit contractual obligation with the agent you hired to represented you; however, I should inform you that this respective forum is for the clients that I represent directly. In this scenario, I did not represent you, the buyer. I represented the sellers, and they are well pleased with my services. All the best, Ann
