    This is an unfortunate commentary )-; and it happened 4 years ago in 2009. This home was built in 1915, in quite poor condition and considered uninhabitable. The sales price reflected the known condition . The sewer lien was an unknown by all parties, until after the sale closed and the city sent the new owner a bill. We tried to get the bank to pay it after the closing but they would not. As far as the renovation costs, the writer indicates that he/she has "renovated a number of houses and aware of costs involved", that being the case why is he/she asking the agent for their opinion? Mike has also done many renovations and is pretty good at estimating costs based on doing the work himself. Best guess is that this property had hidden repairs required that were not known prior to starting the renovation work. This buyer could have chosen not to purchase this project home, but did proceed with closing the sale. Most Respectfully, Peg McNab
