I am just the middle person between owner & tenant, the owner approved having 3 dogs at the property. The tenant was not a bad person & paid the rent on time every month. The dog(s) chewed a corner of the kitchen floor, which was replaced w/the security deposit. I never said the owner would owe the tenant $500 for the pet deposit. I did make a bookkeeping error & forget to collect a pet deposit. I apologized for my error & admitted to my error. In all my years of leasing this is the first time I missed a pet deposit. I tried to make up for my error by providing free services by meeting w/many vendors, searching out bids & getting the house ready for renting. 2 separate flea bombs were set off. I would have continued to remedy the fleas but, I was told I couldn't spend any more money. The owner decided to sell the house at the last minute & the listing agent offered to take over from there.
