The landlord mailed your deposit 5 days after you vacated. The mail was returned due to your new address not being set up correctly. Once the landlord discovered the returned mail, he sent you the deposit electronically. The landlord told you from the beginning that he would not get involved in your marital disputes. The other person on the lease was your wife(ex wife). It is up to both of you or a court to split your money. That is not the landlord's responsibility.

My rental homes rent extremely fast. When this person contacted me I already had many families scheduled to see the home before him. The first family who viewed the home rented it. I offered to add this person to my list of qualified families waiting for Fore Ranch rental homes to become available so he would have first opportunity on my next available rental home. I responded to this person quickly, prequalified him, and set the appointment. Unfortunately he was 8th on the viewing list and we didn't make it past the first family in line. Other customers have told me that I'm one of the only Realtors that even respond to rental inquiries. In order to successfully obtain a rental home in a high demand neighborhood you need to have a good relationship with the broker who specializes in that neighborhood and you need to get on the waiting list so you have first opportunity to rent the home.
