This was a fun pair of transactions. We met 6 months ahead of the Bothell listing to plan repairs to the house, and at that meeting we decided the old Bavarian kitchen had to be remodeled. In order to accomplish the move to Bellevue, we asked our buyers for a long rent-back. We found an agreeable buyer the first weekend. In Bellevue we expected a long, competitive house search, but in fact we put out two offers at once and got both houses under contract. That lets the buyer choose among sellers rather than vice versa. Our seller also wanted a rent-back, so we just made sure the dates lined up such that my clients wouldn't be homeless. All the inspections, appraisals, and loan approvals went smoothly after that.
