Though we strive for perfection, we are human and make mistakes. Upon client contact, he was inflammatory in tone/words; took 5 min to calm him and speak rationally. All clients sign agreements, which we keep on record. Here it states: “CLIENT acknowledges that liability of INSPECTOR…shall be limited to an amount equal to the fee paid to the INSPECTOR.” Thus we offered to refund inspection cost. Client agreed, and later demanded more. Regardless of age of unit, if recommendation to seek prof. consult was followed, these issues may not have arisen. Claim that we “refused to take ownership” is false; we sought to refund him right away. Regarding sewer line, verbiage states: “ALL sewer scope videos should be evaluated by plumber.” To allege incorrect info, based on his assessment of unrelated errors, is uncalled for. We always refer clients to experts. If they choose not to use them, we can do no more. We regret that client feels wronged, and hope this puts things into perspective.
