Stone fences and rock piles found along the boundaries and throughout the interior of the property, are evidence of a time when clearing the land was a necessity to plant crops and graze beef cattle and dairy cows. A tributary to the South Branch of the Little Salmon River, a Class A trout stream, originates from lands to the north, then flows southeast, traversing the property through a Freshwater Wetland, slowing to rest in a beaver pond before exiting on the parcel’s eastern boundary. For a larger catch, travel 15 minutes north to the Salmon River, famous for its king and coho salmon, brown trout, steelhead, and rainbow trout, or Lake Ontario for more of the same plus; walleye, bass, pike, and perch. There are numerous excellent potential building sites surrounding the pond, and in the thick of the forest, for those that desire a private dwelling site, and/or choose to live off the grid!
