Lakeside/lakefront Cabin ( annually renewable unbounded ground lease in managed forest watershed with lake access )
Combined living/den with screen porch, kitchen, two bedrooms and one and a half baths, over-water access from main marina at Inland Dam road to cabins on the lake. There are no driveways or over-land vehicle access to cabins on Inland. Its been that way since the lake was constructed back in the 1950s.
This is one of only about 30 places on a beautiful 1,557 acre ( 30 miles of shoreline) stocked lake, surrounded by thousands of acres of undeveloped forests. Inland Lake has been kept exceptionally pristine as it is a public water supply owned and managed by the by Birmingham Waterworks Board (BWWB)).
Federally protected, access to the lake is controlled 24/7/365 by Blount County Sheriffs. Visitors must sign in to gain access to the lake, boat ramp, marina, and to any cabin on the lake.
Boating is permitted anywhere on the lake. Half of the lake is available for water sports, half reserved for fishing. No Jet-skis are permitted on Inland. Boats are limited to 16 feet and less than 200 HP. Most owners have pontoon boats.
The lease is perpetually renewable, with an annual term. The license fee is about $2,000 per year. The BWWB requires owners to maintain liability insurance, which costs about $800 per year. New construction and modification of existing improvements (e.g. cabin, boat barn, swim dock) is permitted, as approved by the BWWB.
N.B.: the "Zestimate" for this property is based on Inland Lakes' ZIP code and average home sales in Blount county and not for cabins on the lake.
Inland Lake is located in Blount county, AL., only a half-hour , about 27 miles north of Birmingham, AL. and 20 minutes south of Onteona off highway 59/79.
Inland Lake is a pristine, unpolluted, fresh water source for the City of Birmingham. There are no through-river flows as is the case for most all of other large lakes in Alabama. There is very little boat traffic usually, even on holidays. The next-door neighbors cabins are distant, across the lake or around the bend. There are only small cabins on Inland. There are no mc-mansions, resorts, hotels, or developments of any sort on Inland. Thousands of acres of undeveloped woodlands surround the lake; Inland offers a quite, peaceful retreat unmatched in quality by any other lakefront properties in Alabama.
e-mail Bob.Montgomery.Jr@GMail.COM or call (256) 527-9383 if you are interested, have questions, or to arrange a visit to see the lake. Campsite leaseholds can only be held by individuals, and not for profit.
