Located in the midst of unspoiled nature, Hartlings Island is a true gem. From lush green woodlands and endless fresh air to wide open ocean views and star filled skies, this truly is a piece of paradise. Due to the fact that it is protected from the wild elements by neighbouring islands and has a large bay with calm waters and safe mooring even in windy conditions on the eastside, this island has been inhabited since the mid -19th century. The Main house, a solid, fully insulated building with 430 sq ft (40 sqm) is just a few steps from the bay. The home has a spacious sleeping/living/eating area, a kitchen and a small outhouse surrounded by a field. The house could easily be extended. There is plenty of water thanks to a newly constructed well. Approx. 8 km of hiking trail zigzag across the island through coniferous and hardwood forest , berry land (Rasp-, black- and gooseberries) , ferns and flowering plants. You will meet the occasional deer or seals, basking in the sun on the island's natural beach. There is also a small camp 215 sq ft.(20sqm) not far from the beach, offering a kitchen area and two bunk beds. This island is ideal for swimming, diving or any watersports you may want to indulge in. Easy access from a small village and dock on the mainland. Moser River is just a 10 min drive away and Sheet Harbour or Sherbrook with shopping, restaurants , drugstore etc. each about 30 min drive away. 2 hours to the beautiful provincial capital of Halifax or the Internat.
