This Greek Revival home was built in 1840 by Capt Bangs Hallet. In 1863, upon his retirement, he traded this home for the similar home at 2 Strawberry Ln owned by his good friend, Capt Allen Knowles, Master of the famous clipper ship, Chariot of Fame. This property stayed in the Knowles family until the present owners acquired it in 1971.
