The house benefits from a concrete block and stucco (CBS) construction rather than the cheaper stick or wood frame home. As a result this CBS home is significantly stronger and unlike a stick home is resistant to fire and weather effects and has a higher tensile strength. CBS homes are also less susceptible to termite and mold damage and general wood deterioration and tend to command a higher resale value and lower insurance costs as they are perceived by insurance companies to pose lower risk.
