We bought this house in 2005 and love it, but must move out-of-state for work. This house is the original Crosby homestead on Crosby Lake Road. It was built in 1836 - before Michigan was even a state! You can see, in the original framing still visible in the attic and basement, that they planed logs to use as structural beams and supports. This home was completely renovated in 1993, with new wiring and plumbing, and the addition of a master bedroom. The home has plank flooring and a wood-burning stove. The upstairs is a perfect child's room, roomy and light, with a loft and its own bathroom. There is a 1-acre backyard, fenced, with lots of lawn and some shade trees. We are the fourth-to-last house on a dead-end road, so there is hardly any traffic. You can look out the window and see deer, racoons, geese, duck, and sand hill cranes. If you walk a half mile to the end of the road you are in Indian Springs Metro Park. This is a unique home in a unique location. Come out and see it for yourself. You'll fall in love with it too.
