This mother in law unit is next to my personal home, which has undergone a large addition + renovation during the next year. It is 240 square feet and the interior is entirely renovated. New electrical, toilet, shower, sink, paint, flooring, windows, heating, and more. The exterior will be getting new siding, deck, and roofing in the next year as well. The immediate outdoor area looks like it's been under construction. Safe and mellow, this place is ideal for a traveling professional who doesn't mind that the exterior of this studio and next door home will be under construction for the tenancy. Month to month, fully furnished, kitchenette, full bed, cozy, and safe.
Trinity Lake is about an hour's drive, Kangaroo Lake is 40 minutes, Mt. Shasta an hour plus or minus 15 minutes depending on summer versus winter conditions, and the town of Etna is only 12 minutes. Yreka, home to Fairchild Medical Center, is 40 minutes away.
Our home's corner is 10 feet away from the cabin. This means that you'll hear us potentially get ready for school in the morning, barely hear me all day as I work from home during the day, and probably notice when the kids get home from school in the afternoon. We are lights out by 10 pm every day of the week if not earlier, and our two kids are normal, well-behaved kids that will respect your privacy as we hope you will respect ours.
As we are your only neighbors, and are so close by, we have some strict rules:
No smoking of any kind, in or out of the cabin. No unauthorized guests, quiet by 10pm every day of the week, and pets are carefully considered. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats, as well as chickens.
Electricity, heating, water, garbage, and wifi are all included in this fully furnished rental. There's no on site laundry but an excellent, clean, and safe laundromat is in Etna.
Our ideal tenant is a quiet professional who seeks solitude, safety, and simplicity. This is an ideal spot for someone considering purchasing a home in Siskiyou County, and needs a temporary home base, or a person working from home and eager to get some fresh air at the same time.
This is a month to month lease, and a 1-3 month tenure is ideal but we'd be open to an extension if it is a good fit. An application is required and a FaceTime get-to-know-one another should be expected.
A small pet is considered.
