This is a top floor corner unit of a 42 unit 3 story condominium complex. Open floor plan with approximately 900 square feet, plus a screened in balcony. Fully furnished with a queen bed in each bedroom. It is an all electric home with water, sewer, and wifi access included. Bring your own firestick or other streaming device to access wifi for TV or internet. In addition to monthly rental amount, tenant is responsible for 2/3 of electricity used and a bill will be sent via email by landlord. Free, convenient off-street parking. Free use of washer and dryer in unit. Smoking is not permitted inside the condo, and (sorry) tenants are not allowed to have pets. A small storage shed under the building may be available for your free use (like to store a bicycle, outdoor chairs, etc.) Great seafood and other restaurants are right nearby as well as multiple other options for fun imbibing and dining. Additionally, antique, art, boutique shops, massage studio, yoga, dancing and a local YMCA are nearby. Historic and outdoor activities abound as well including historic sites, yoga studio, dancing, massage studio, a YMCA, and more. This part of the coast is great for viewing wildlife and for learning about all the interesting history here. In addition, St. Simons Island and Jekyll Island are approximately 30 minutes or so from Darien. Note: This condominium has a dock and a pool, however, owner does not want to rent to someone who wishes to dock their boat here (Sorry, for liability reasons.) Also, the property usually has a pool open seasonally but it is undergoing renovation and will likely not be available. (I'm very sorry.) Renter's Insurance is preferred but not required. Home may be available slightly earlier if needed. * To clarify why the electric bill is split, owner keeps some belongings in an additional bedroom suite while away during tenant occupancy. So it makes sense to charge tenant just their own share of the bill. FYI, our home uses a Google Nest thermostat. I leave it on an eco setting and change it if I need to adjust the temp. Depending on your energy usage your share may be under $100.00 or could be $200.00 or more. The unit normally enjoys a great cross breeze coming from the screened balcony through the living room and dining room and out through the storm down when it's screen is in use. It's a true delight. This rental is between a vacation rental and an annual lease. Minimum of 3 month lease, for stays of 4 to 8 months the rent is reduced to $1700/mo. Again, tenant pays 2/3 of the monthly electric bill to landlord. (Because 1/4-1/3 of space is blocked off of the 1460f condo.) Upon signing the agreed upon lease, a security deposit of $500.00 is due (and this goes into an escrow account) and the first month's rent is due. Note: Owner plans on returning to take up residence again on or near Jan 1, 2026.
