My brothers and I acquired the land in 1979 and built our own off-the-grid cabin. For years we used a gas generator and charged tractor batteries for electrical power. Yes, there will be challenges in building, but we did it in the early '80s and you will have the benefit of staying in the cabin we built as you build yours in this new millennium.
