This lovely old home was built in 1828 by two brothers, Samuel and Lincoln Hart. A relative, Charles Hart, donated money for what was the Townsend Hart Free Library. The home was later given to the Townsend Congregational Church to use as a parsonage. Three owners have lived in it since then. The location is ideal for walking around town and sits across from the Town Common which is an active place from April through October. Military Band concerts are held on Thursdays in the Summer.
