See more details at www.8521craven.website. Welcome to my home! This custom estate began as a beautiful 4 acre plot of land with rolling hills, oak & hickory trees and a spring fed creek. In 1993 at 28 years old, I had a vision of building a home for my young family that would be an oasis from the city, yet a few minutes from anywhere; where we could fish, swim, boat, observe wildlife, walking trails through the woods; where I could have my own office to work at home. The days are full of sun and shade, the nights are quiet and full of stars. I began designing our house in AutoCAD and spent a year and a half drawing and designing. Then in 1994 I began clearing/grading and then started construction in 1995 with the best materials and components available. Over the next year, I poured my heart and soul into the house and we moved in May of 1996. Days started early and I would work until after midnight when I would be so tired that I would sleep in a sleeping bag on the concrete floor. Then in 1997 I designed and constructed the 1 acre pond for fishing and boating. In 2005 I designed and built the pool and waterfall with the same long hours. Later we created a sanctuary for domestic ducks and geese to rescue these beautiful birds. But everything has a season... I knew when I built this that one day my season here would end and it would be time for a new caretaker for my oasis. My children are grown and have their own families.
