1841 Historic Mansion, known as Silver Point located on Ripley's Historical Colonial Row. Built by Samuel Hemphill, a financier of the abolitionist movement in Ohio. The home was occupied by Rear Admiral Albert Kautz who was instrumental in the battle of New Orleans. Kautz was well connected and home was visited by Presidents Grant and Hayes.
