    What's special

Our home is two separate living quarters with two separate entries to the first floor and directly to the second floor. Our residence is on the first floor, and our accommodations are on the second floor with two rooms. You'll have a private room and a shared bathroom with the 2nd room. The kitchenette, living room, and balcony are shared common space with the guest quarters (on the opposite side of the 2nd floor) which is typically a person whose family or a close friend. Hale Piko is 500 feet and less than a one-minute walk to Poka'i Bay Beach Park on the Leeward Coast of Wai'anae, 'Oahu. This is a truly accessible calm beach (not impeded by a highway or dangerous reef) great for a relaxing swim, lap swimming, and stand-up paddling. If you're a surfer, this beach is also a quick paddle out to Rest Camp surf break. This is a 20 min. drive to Ko'Olina with an added few minutes to Kapolei. This newly built space includes your own private room/workspace and a shared bathroom with another remote working professional, enjoying the comforts of home while taking a break from the daily grind with a quick surf session, or a swim in the ocean. You can end the day to renew and rejuvenate with the west side of the island's breathtaking orange and pink sunsets. There is ample parking, and an outdoor shower to rinse off sandy feet. When entering your space's main entrance, you may be greeted by chocolate Labrador Retrievers Camilo and Emi, who are inside the yard, and behind a vinyl fence separate from the entry. They enjoy sunbathing after their day at the beach. They are friendly and may be vocal for a few seconds with excitement until they get to know you. The entry is shared with an additional remote working professional, and family member that may be in my guest quarters staying on the 2nd floor as well in a separate space. The entry point leads to your private room on the 2nd floor with about 16 steps to the right hallway where your private room is located. You'll only be sharing a bathroom with the remote working professional. The living room, kitchenette, and balcony are shared spaces with my guest quarters and the additional working professional. The shared space includes security and surveillance for the exterior entry and foyer. Each room is equipped with a punch code keyless entry to lock your private furnished room and workspace. We're looking forward to being your host while you make new connections in Hawai'i with fellow remote working professionals! (The Space) -1 parking spot is available, though we can accommodate a 2nd parking if needed. -Hale Piko includes a full-sized bed. -1 private room includes a desk by request. -Common space includes: -Bathroom -Living room -Kitchenette -Balcony -Wifi speed at 400 Mbps. (Where you'll be) Wai'anae, O'ahu, Hawai'i, US Wai'anae is located approximately 40 minutes west of Daniel K. Inouye International Airport on the Leeward Coast, or the west side of the island. Wai'anae is a city in Honolulu County on the island of 'Oahu with a population of approximately 13,000, 80% being Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, or two or more ethnicities. A quick 15-minute drive without traffic to Ko'Olina Resort beach lagoons, Paradise Cove Luau, and Ko'Olina's PGA Golf Course. (The Neighborhood) We are a close-knit community in the countryside of Wai'anae with some of the most beautiful beaches on the island, the largest pod of spinner dolphins on our coastline, and beautiful sunsets. Though, like all beautiful places where everyone wants to be, we do experience traffic. The rush hour begins at 3:00pm going into our town, though a contra-flow lane opens in the far left lane at this time to alleviate traffic. To avoid rush hour, return after 6:30pm. Not only are we less than a one-minute walk to the beach, but we also are within walking distance to casual eateries and a very quick drive, or even walking distance to a laundromat, drug store, and the post office. (House Rules) -No shoes in the house. -Again, no shoes in the house. This is our culture in Hawai'i. -Smoking is not permitted within the rooms and home. Please inquire about smoking on the balcony. -No sugary beverages in the room. -Please rinse your sandy toes before entering the home. -No loud noise/music between 10pm to 8am. -Please don't feed Camilo & Emi. They are old, have a strict diet, and need to lose weight. (Additional Information to note) -This space is child-friendly, but not childproof. Please ensure that children are never left unsupervised, and a responsible adult is present with them at all times. -Our neighbors enjoy celebrating the holidays with fireworks and on the weekends have occasional family parties in their yard which is the typical local culture. You may also hear noise from the main road occasionally with emergency services. My doggies Emi and Camilo can be vocal for a minute from time to time as well. Closed windows can eliminate much of this, though if you are sensitive to noise please reconsider this booking. -This home is equipped with central AC, and for the most part, we keep the windows and the sliding door closed. If you'd prefer fresh air, please inform us and we'll adjust our thermostat. -We don't provide a laundry facility due to allergies and sensitive skin in our household, though there is a laundromat in very close proximity. -Our home is equipped with surveillance in our main home entries, and the foyer (hallway up the stairs). -Hawai'i State regulations require a 30-day minimum rental. Please contact the host for further details about this, and for possible availability. (About Us) This is a veteran-owned establishment. I am also a local who grew up in Wai'anae and my husband is very familiar with our Leeward Coast beaches due to his occupation. We love to travel and know what to expect from our vacation rentals, so please don't hesitate to message us if you have any questions. We will be up-front and honest based on what you're expecting for your vacation. -This is a fixed rental agreement for a furnished private room.
