    What's special

Indeed there have been many upgrades since I've been here. I had the upstairs refinished with new drywall, paint, some carpeting and replaced the original style 8" baseboards. Upstairs bath was completely remodeled with bathtub and separate shower and partially enclosed toilet fixture. Main floor flooring was completely redone with African slate in the entry foyer and carried through to the fireplace surround. I installed a Quadra-Fire Elegance gas fireplace with custom surround/mantle. Wolfer's did the gas plumbing and electrical service. Downstairs bath was remodeled with Kohler Elite fixtures. In kitchen, breakfast room and hallway I had American Oak laminate installed, and then plumbed for a gas range as well as electric so the space could accommodate a duel fuel range setup if desired. I replaced the fridge with a KitchenAid 26 cu ft side by side and recently installed a new Samsung stainless steel gas range with convection oven. The former electric range is in the basement for you also. Appx 80% of the windows in the house have been upgraded to vinyl, gas-filled dual pane and the entire house is encased in lifetime aluminum siding, custom crafted to look like the Craftsman-style structure that it encases. With all of that insulation, my utility bills average a bit less than $100/mo for gas and appx $109/mo for electric. Not too shabby for an almost-4000 Sq ft house including basement. I upgraded the electrical service to provide 50 amp service for my friend's RV bus when they arrived in the summer so I have about 400 amps worth of electrical service. New plumbing was installed by Randy Scott (previous owner). I had a new 50 gal gas water heater installed after I moved in. Furnace is great, however the Quadra-Fire fireplace heats the house so well that you have to open windows even with the fan on low. It is remote controlled as well as manual (in case of a power outage so you won't freeze). Cosmetics are "beauty in the eye of the beholder." I used paint colors unique to the time that the house was built and tried to maintain as much of the period hardware as possible when updating. Brass and crystal doorknobs and plates are still on most of the doors, and the stair treads, balusters and railings are all original native wood and solid as a rock. I'm sure I've forgotten a bunch of stuff, but this should give some idea of the tons of work completed. It's a grand house and should continue to serve beautifully for another hundred or so years. Renter is responsible for Electric and Gas. No pets. No Smoking. Off street parking is available. Lease durations are 6, 12 months.
