Neighborhood Description Samish Hill is a hilly, residential neighborhood located at the southern end of Bellingham. The neighborhood still maintains much of its original rural character from the past, but it is experiencing new residential growth like many areas of Bellingham. Housing in the neighborhood varies. Most of the older homes in this neighborhood were built adjacent to Samish Way, the main entrance into the city before I-5 was constructed. Many of these older homes are located around Mill Street and on the western side of Samish Hill. These homes enjoy views of Happy Valley below and Bellingham Bay in the distance. Many newer homes have been built on the western hillside to take advantage of the same views. The only apartments in the Samish Hill Neighborhood are located at the bottom of the hill on the northern edge of the neighborhood.
