Perfect vacation getaway! Away from the city still close enough to reach town within 20 minutes. The cabin is 11 miles from nearest city, 7 miles of paved forest tree filled roads then another 3 ½ miles off pavement. Enjoy the serene drive while traveling through the roads, stop to check out the boulders, creeks and wildlife on the way. Enjoy the many different colors of fall and the aromas of the foliage and all the distinctive trees native to the area, catch a glimpse of passing deer, bunny rabbits, squirrels, javalina just to name a few who make this area their home and roamed freely about. As you continue, suddenly you come to a “T” as you turn to your left you see a road with a big sign “WELCOME TO POTATO PATCH”, you have arrived. Wow….what a sight! You see aspen, oak and juniper all around with cabins peeking through here and there. YOU HAVE REACHED PARADISE! The cabin is just past Potato Patch Park, on the right side of Poachers Row set back from the road so when you park you see oak and juniper sheltering the home from the road. Facing the cabin, there are two large covered decks that surround the side and front of the cabin and look onto the driveway, trees and road. They are perfect for entertaining, barbequing, playing cards or relaxing. A bright and cheerful great room welcomes you as you enter with a nice wooden stove set back in its own private covey lined with beautiful slate tile and the kitchen to the left. The windows are large providing wonderful views of the forest. The bathrooms are very rustic, lined with wood and tile. The lower level may be used as a mother-in-law suite, family room, hobby or guest. It is set up with a small kitchenette and private full bathroom. This is true cabin living, private, secluded yet with all the amenities so you are not really roughing it. What a great place to get away to, take that nice long vacation from all the hustle and bustle of everyday live, do some hiking, take those long walks.
