    What's special

Custom built by Bozak, a unique tri-level house. The front of the house contains the living room, entry hallway, dining room and kitchen. The back of the house is two stories with a cathedral ceiling in the front of the house that conceals the two stories in the back. From the entry hallway, there are 6 steps up to the main bedroom level containing three bedrooms and two baths. The cathedral ceiling simply allows the six steps up without any special building accommodation. From the dining room there are 8 steps down to the bottom level of the house containing a large family room. A large entry closet was placed behind the dining room (between the steps up and steps down). To the left of the family room is the laundry room with a laundry shoot from the master bedroom. To the right of the laundry room is a brick pad and associated brick wall for a hard coal stove. A short wall with pocket door separates the laundry room from the stove. (There are two flues, one for the stove and one for the fireplace in the living room.) Half way into the laundry room is the entry door for an L-shaped large bedroom or office. To the left of the downstairs bedroom/office is the third bathroom with an entry door across from the coal stove. At the right of the family room is a wet-bar with a door that opens into the garage where the cars can be reached with seven steps up. On the other side of the wet-bar is a French door that opens onto a large screened in-porch (12x22 foot). The backyard is reached from the screened in-porch, thus making it effectively a walk-out basement. The screened in-porch can also be accessed directly from the garage with an additional door (one does not have to go through the family room to get the screened-in porch and backyard). The screened-in porch is thus hidden from of the house for privacy. Large oak trees are on the property boundary. Pine trees and lilac bushes separate the house from the neighbor's house on the right. Major remodeling was performed by Enders in 2002 at about half the price of the original 1984 construction cost (again specified by the owner/engineer): the floor in the kitchen, dining room entry hallway, steps up and steps down were replaced by hardwood. The kitchen was remodeled with Wood-Mode cabinets. A new glass-top stove with modern microwave mounted above it and cabinet-depth refrigerator were added, all black. Island-cabinets with a counter-top to match the new kitchen counters was placed in parallel with the kitchen cabinets and included a semi-circular eating area for two people. A new Wood-Mode desk, with cabinets above it, was added to the right of the kitchen door leading to the garage. Under the counter lighting was added to the kitchen. A ceiling fan/light combination was installed over the center of the dining table. An outdoor ceiling fan/light was added to the screened -in porch. Ceramic tile was placed as a backsplash in the kitchen. The upstairs bathroom's original linoleum was replaced with ceramic tile. In 2010, three additional improvements were made: 1) Enders came back to do about $10,000 worth of work: a) The carpet in the upstairs hallway was replaced by hardwood, b) The original sliding door from the family room to the screened in-porch was replaced by a French-door, c) The downstairs bathroom cabinet was replaced by a Wood-Mode cabinet with a Corian top. New wall-paper was placed in the downstairs bathroom and d) the screened in-porch screen was replaced after repainting the wood that the owner/engineer had previously constructed himself. 2) The original asphalt driveway was replaced with concrete at a cost of about $8,000. 3) Major landscaping was performed at a cost of about $4,000. In 2013, a Bassett Hound was purchased from Tait farms and a 50 foot by 65 foot fenced-in backyard was constructed by Vinyl King at a cost of about $7,500. Additional improvements totaling $30,000 were made in 2014.
