The first floor unit we have for rent is a nice 2 bed, 1 bath unit with an eat in kitchen and a good sized living room separating the two bedrooms. The unit has a small front porch as well as a private back deck overlooking a shaded backyard, as well as a small shared patio below the deck that can be used for grilling. There is shared laundry and storage space in the walk out basement, and plenty of on street parking with no permit required (the home's driveway is being used by the tenants in the upper unit). Both units are deleaded with certificates on file. Unit was renovated in Sept 2018 including new cabinets, granite countertops, all new stainless steel appliances (sink + faucet, gas range, refrigerator, and dishwasher), bathroom vanity, refinished hardwood floors, and new paint in every room. Location wise the home is on a nice quiet residential street right on the Somerville border, a pleasant 5 minute walk from Magoun Square. The 101 bus to Sullivan (orange line) picks up two block away, and the 80, 89, and 95 buses are all within a 5 minute walk. I used to work in downtown Boston and it's a consistent 30 minute commute via either public transit or a nice bike ride through Charlestown. You can pick up the community path in Magoun square and walk to Davis in 20 minutes, or walk down the hill to Winter Hill brewery in 10. All in all a great location, we miss it a lot and would never have moved if we didn't need more space for a baby! We purchased this two family home in 2015 and lived in the upper unit until 2018when we bought a home in Winchester in anticipation of our first child. The upper unit is rented by a nice couple who have been there since 2019 and have renewed their lease through Sept 2021. In general we are looking for long term tenant who will treat the home as their own, and in return we strive to be caring landlord who are prompt about addressing any concerns or maintenance issues. Given the off-cycle availability, lease terms can be flexible from 6-18 months.
