This is our family home. It is not a hustle to make money off of others. We are charging our mortgage, not a dollar more. We are looking for renters - maybe even a young family, like ours - to live in it, take care of it, and to enjoy it like we have. We bought the home 4 years ago, have remodeled it to create an open-floor plan, with hand-touch craft to make it a comfy home to sit with a book by the woodstove in the winter, host dinners with friends, with lots of light during the day to enjoy the backyard below the mountains. Before the hurricane, we invested significantly to install a 13' deep, 130' long french perimeter drain, as well as drain boxes to redirect water. We're glad we did. The basement is winterized with a new sump pump, vapor barriers, heating coils on the pipes, along with now a solar supported well pump. The backyard now has an insulated artist/office shed with strong wifi connection, wall heater, along with a twin bed to sleep by the creek. It serves as a sweet guest room. There is also a barrel sauna, steps down to the creek, and an outdoor shower. Lastly, an organic garden, and (vacant) chicken coop is available for the renter to take care of if they choose. There is a two-car garage as well, and a driveway that fits 3 cars. We use the garage as a workspace, and for storage. We are looking for renters to move in as early as Oct. 1 2025 who can commit to 12 months. We will be very selective on who we agree to rent our home and so we ask for a letter sent to us to express your interest, more about you, and why this home seems like a good fit for you all. We do have a pet cat that we would be willing to reduce the monthly rent if the renter agrees to care for her. She's easy, indoor/outdoor, and has a window door to enter/exit on her own, with an automatic feeder. Thank you and we hope if you're reading this, you find a home out there you love in the same way we love ours. We are leaving for some time because of family needs across the country. Owner pays for water testing (well), internet, and garbage collection. Renter pays utilities (monthly). Renter pays first and last month's rent up-front. Ideally looking for 6-12 month commitment from renter.
