7610 S. Ridgeland Ave. The Anton E. Hanson House, at 7610 S. Ridgeland, stands out, a commanding presence on a block of bungalows. Built in 1912, it is notable (and was recently listed on the National Register) for its concrete construction, of which it was an early example. Architect Perley Hale primarily designed homes, but his nearest work is a 1908 warehouse building for Anheuser Busch abutting the old Illinois Central tracks at 72nd & Kimbark in Grand Crossing. The two buildings are quite divergent in style and subsequent fortune.
