The front of the house was built in 1830- Colonial . The kitchen and living room have exposed beams and there is a fireplace in the living room. The kitchen was remodeled in 2004 and has a soap stone sink and tile counters and back splash. In 1968, an addition was added to the back of the house to provide a downstairs bedroom, a den and a sun room and a second attic. In 1994, the second floor attic was converted to an apartment with full kitchen, living/dining area, second floor deck and private entrance, new bathroom with entrance into bedrooms in old part of the house. The apartment has three skylights and a full wall of windows that looks out to the mountain. In 2013, a new metal roof was put on the entire house. The was followed by a solar hot water system and then, in 2015, a photo-voltaic system. In 2016, the 1830 part of the house had vinyl siding added with a layer of insulation underneath. There is also a large barn, a permanently constructed greenhouse, a shed and a separate irrigation well. The 53 acres has about 15 acres of fields, 2 of which have been prepared for crop production. The remainder is wooded. Flower gardens surround the house and the farming has all been done according to organic procedures.
