The Joseph Wheeler house was built c 1720 in Leominster Ma. It was moved and re-built by todays standards, i.e. insulation, poured foundation, wiring etc. A wonderful period home without all the headaches that can go along with owning an original antique! The grounds are wonderful with a sweeping lawn leading up to an stately home with a massive central chimney. One feels like being in a time warp with the period detailing in this well lived in and loved home.It has all the warmth of a true antique with modern amenities. There are four fireplaces, one of which the owner has used to cook many holiday dinners. He says the beehive oven in the dining room works better than a modern range! Nothing like cooking Thanksgiving dinner in the huge walk in fireplace. Very impressive, indeed. The property includes an 18th century cape which was also moved and rebuilt offering storage, a heated workshop, and oversized gallery, open to many possibilities such as an artists studio or game room.
