This spacious apartment (Junior 4) is perfect for anyone who needs an extra room--be it for a new baby, small child, or a home office setup, which is what I currently use it for. The bedroom is huge and the location in the building means windows on three sides of the apartment. I threw out my old A/C years ago as the ceiling fan is generally all I need at night with all the windows and cross breeze in the bedroom. The kitchen has a lookthrough and has plenty of counter space as well as a dishwasher. Bay Ridge is a beautiful, safe, and stable neighborhood that is being quickly discovered by those who want space at a reasonable price. Almost anywhere in the city, getting close to 1000 square feet will cost you 2x the price. This location works especially well for anyone working in lower Manhattan--as you might not know about the X27 express bus that makes a Battery Park commute home 23 minutes door to door. The building itself had its lobby and hallways renovated in the last year or so. My upstairs neighbors are lovely--I'll be asking them to water my plants given some upcoming travel--and the guy across the hall is super nice. I have a garage spot, which is a godsend if you have a car. You'll have to go on the waiting list, but it wasn't that long before I got on it when I moved in--and I think most of our recent new neighbors don't have cars anyway. I doubt the wait would be very long.
