Beautiful furnished bedroom. Bedroom hosts a huge closet, additional storage space (see photos), and large windows with lots of light in a rowhouse shared with one (and occasionally two) housemates. Rent includes sheets and towels. It's available January 1. The house was completely gutted and renovated in 2012. Common areas include a huge kitchen (with dishwasher), dining and living rooms, laundry area (washer/dryer), and gorgeous backyard garden with patio, deck, grill and firepit. The house is located four blocks from the Columbia Heights metro stop (green line) and a block from numerous bus lines on Georgia Ave. and 11th St. NW. It is also conveniently located within one to four blocks of all the bars, restaurants and shops on 11th St., 14th St., Sherman Ave., and Georgia Ave. You will share the house with me, a woman in her fifties who is a hospital chaplain and former lawyer. I write, paint and sing and spend a lot of time hiking and in other outdoor activities. Prior to the corona outbreak, my travels varied, but I have lived and worked internationally for much of my adult life. Also in the house is an adorable medium size lab-mix. I will be renting out my second guest room as well (with whom you will share 1.5 bathrooms), and you will have a say in who I rent it to. Covid: I am vaccinated and still somewhat cautious given I work with an institutionalized population so my preference is for vaccinated housemates. Pre-covid, I hosted house concerts from one to three times a year. I hope that these will resume again, but who knows when that will be. Monthly utilities + shared house items (things like trash bags, toilet paper in the common half-bath, and cleaning supplies) + house cleaning fee = $250 (I have a person who comes to clean the house once a month). Lease is available month-to-month. Preference is given to those who expect to be here for multiple months. If two people want to share the room, there is an additional $200 charge. Off-street parking is available for $100/month. One dog is welcome for an additional $25/month as long as it gets along with my dog.
