We are directly across the road from the nature reserve, Isacc Walton League so there will never be any building or homes across from us; We border on Beaver Lodge Road but our acre is long an parallel to Tackett's Mill so there is quite a distance from the house; for the security of children. The neighbors have been here for a long time and go out of their ways to be friendly and help whenever help is needed. Our well is tied into an artesian spring; we pump over 20 gallons per minute and the water tastes better than any bottled water you can find; there are alsolutly no metals or bad minerals in it; the water is soap which is great for your hair and skin and cleaning clothes in the washer; soap goes a long ways. Our soil is extremely fertile and our gardens produces the biggest and the best veggies and blueberries each year. The house is perfect for entertaining large families (we have nine children with five of them having spouses, and 4 grandchildren, and Dick is one of 9 himself. When upstairs you can't hear anything downstairs at all; the kids play pool or even wrestle and never disturb the adults upstairs; it is like another world. The wood stove can heat the entire house with the fan only from the heatpump, which is great again in the event of a power outage. We are longtime members of NOVEC and they have a terrific outage record - much, much better than Virginia Power, so we rarely have outages. The last time was 4 years ago with Hurricane Isabel.
