I've enjoyed living in this house for the last 30 years, but I'm nearing retirement and must downsize. There are many unique features to this house such as: the split level design (very few houses offer the variety of 4 levels of living space) the location (Vestal Rail Trail is just a couple of blocks away for rollerblading, bicycling, running or walking the dog) and Binghamton University only 3 miles away and the award winning Vestal School System (the elementary, middle and high schools are only 2 miles away, but all students are safely bused from neighborhood). NOTE: The house has been tested and is radon free. I've never used lawn chemicals on the grass so you can safely add an organic garden or let your children and pets play 'poison free'. Deer do not visit the yard so no need to worry about deer ticks and Lyme Disease. Only good quality materials were used to build this house. The foundation is poured concrete, the living room, dining room, hallway and all 3 upstairs bedrooms have solid oak hardwood flooring, which would cost a fortune to add to a home today. The walls and ceilings are plaster rather than drywall so they've remained in fantastic shape. The windows are situated to provide wonderful light with exceptional views and privacy. The driveway can easily park 4 cars and the garage is very large (2.5 car) with opener's, plastered walls and heated. BIG PLUS - the addition in 2009 of an in-law or teenager suite. The street is quiet and the neighbors range from singles, families to retirees. People keep up their properties and the landscaping is beautifully mature. The Town of Vestal does a great job maintaining the streets by washing them in the springtime, vacuuming up the leaves each fall, and plowing in the wintertime. The location is so convenient. Within 5 - 10 minutes, you can get to the Town Square Mall (with a movie theater, Walmart & Sam's Club, Dicks Sporting Goods, Barnes and Noble, Lowes) and many restaurants (Vestal Diner, Skylark Diner, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, TGIF, Applebees, Outback, Chili's and Panera Bread. Very nearby are several grocery stores, pharmacies, banks and other retails stores along with The Town of Vestal, Fire and Police Dept., and Post Office. There's an expressway junction 2 miles away and the NY/PA border is only 10 miles away.
