The Cottage on Birch, Downtown Monthly Rental The Cottage on Birch is a fully furnished, free-standing cottage located a few blocks from the center of downtown Flagstaff. It is available for a 30-night minimum. Monthly winter (2022-2023) rates are $2800 including utilities, Wifi, W/D, and soaps/trash bags/paper products. $150 move-out cleaning fee. This is a pet-free and smoke-free property. Approximately one mile south of Flagstaff Medical Center (FMC), and north of Northern Arizona University (NAU). This is the perfect base for year-round activities in and around Flagstaff, from Walnut Canyon to the Grand Canyon, close to downtown and the Flagstaff Urban Trail System (FUTS). Guests have the entire cottage, a lovely outdoor patio, and shared access to the BBQ and dining area. There is one parking space in the driveway, and additional spaces along the street. This cottage was built as a mother-in-law cottage sometime in the 50s or 60s behind the original historic 1922 home. The cottage has manufactured wood floors, energy efficient windows and doors, keeping it cozy and cute, but modernizing it along the way. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is well equipped, and the cottage is clean as a whistle. Washer and dryer are located in the attached garage. The rental includes monthly professional cleaning and cleaning on check-out! The Roku Smart TV has Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon subscriptions included, plus a soundbar that can be synched to guest's devices. Bedroom #1: queen bed, side tables with lamps, dresser, closet. Bedroom #2: two twins or one king bed, end table with lamp, dresser, closet. Bathroom: toilet, sink, tub/shower. Living room: full sized couch, two chairs, coffee table, occasional tables with lamps, floor lamp, smart TV. Dining area: table with four chairs. Kitchen: bar with two barstools, refrigerator, full-size gas range, fully functional kitchen supplied with everything supplied for cooking and serving. There is no garbage disposal or dishwasher. Laundry Room (located in garage): full size washer and dryer. Contact: Some things about the cottage and Flagstaff: Flagstaff is at 7,000 feet elevation with warm days, cool nights, and rain likely June-August. Winters are cold with brilliant blue skies most days, with snow possible from October-May. This lovely cottage is in the heart of Flagstaff's historic Townsite residential area. The yard is open to a side street where you can watch the world go by... The best thing about the cottage is its location in the Historic Townsite, a quiet, residential neighborhood. When the weather is warm (usually from Mid-May through September--sometimes earlier or later) you can enjoy the beautiful yard, comfortable seating, outdoor dining table, BBQ, and lounge chairs on the lawn under the crab apple tree. People walk dogs, bicycle, and even stop to say hi if you're interested! In the spring, summer, and fall there are lots of festivals, music events, and arts fairs. In the the winter you can enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and winter sports. Year-round, there are great restaurants, bars, music, and arts events just minutes away by foot, bicycle, or car. It's a two block walk to Thorpe Park which is a grassy playground and tennis courts, and from there you can walk, run, or bike along miles of trails in the Flagstaff Urban Trails System. The cottage is convenient to Flagstaff Medical Center, Northern Arizona University, Lowell Observatory, the Museum of Northern Arizona, Coconino Center for the Arts, The Arboretum and Walnut Canyon National Monument. Flagstaff is 140 miles north of Phoenix, 79 miles southeast of the Grand Canyon South Rim, and 30 miles from Sedona via Oak Creek Canyon. It is an excellent location to base outdoor trips in Northern Arizona, and a leaping off point for Four Corners and the National Parks of Utah and Colorado.
