The dock sits on the corner of a canal that leads directly to the Weeki Wachee River about one thousand feet away! We have manatees swim right up to the dock to feed, as well as happy jumping fish playing in the water and birds drying their feathers perched along the canal. We are on a quiet corner of the canal with friendly neighbors and privacy. Ken lives upstairs with his adorable cat, Figuero, who will slink his way down the stairs sometimes to ask for a pet. The apartment comes furnished with a bed, as well as custom made built-in shelving and hanging racks in the bedroom; the kitchen has a small custom made table and a desk, as well as a microwave, hot plate and refrigerator. A full-size washer and dryer are in the garage to use are your convenience. The real reason anyone wants to live in Weeki Wachee is, of course, the river. Come spend your time relaxing on your own dock to watch the wildlife and kayakers, or bring your own watercraft to stretch your legs and enjoy the serenity of some of the most crystal clear water Florida has to offer! There is 1 kayak available to use with a paddle and a life jacket. The property is less 10 minutes to Roger's park and Pine Island. You can walk to Roger's park in 20 minutes from the house. Everything you need as far as shopping, restaurants and grocery is within 10 minutes of the house. While it is just down the road to Spring Hill, it's a very quiet place tucked away from the busy roads and city life. With all the furnishings and kitchen utensils, all you need is your suitcase! We are leaving our personal furnishings as we embark on a 6 month trip. This unit is available from the summer months 5/1 - 10/31 and is truly a rare find. This is just a temporary sublet so an extension will not be possible. We hope you can enjoy our space as much as we do and take care of it. This unit is suitable for 2 people max (a couple) but also perfect for just 1 person looking for a summer/ fall getaway. Unfortunately, pets cannot be allowed. 1 month's rent + a security deposit of 1 month's rent will be due upfront. Please contact us with any further questions.
