Woodlawn Originally a host of the 1893 Worlds Columbian Exposition, Woodlawn has long been an important community area of Chicago, both because of its ties to the past, and its plans for the future. Jackson Park, for example, covers almost 1/3 of the communitys land area and provides all with direct access to Lake Michigan.
