No need to look at neighbors, Mt. Tabor Park is literally your front yard!
Mostly brand-new top floor. Just replaced the kitchen island with a new peninsula, more counter space and better layout, new pendant lights on the counter with room for 3-4 diner's plates. Easy install in living, basement and bedrooms for flat screens if you'd like some. Nearly all Fresh paint. Professionally cleaned. Many windows, at least four new and another new sliding door just replaced out to primary deck.
New hardwood floors throughout entire top level.... From dimmable Sputnik Fixture lit entry and dining rooms, to half bath & open layout kitchen and living room, with gas fireplace and French doors opening to a large "gardenable-with-pots" Trex deck that just so happens to have a 200-year-old Douglas Fir growing through it, (recently trimmed). Nice view out your kitchen sink window. Somewhat seasonal views of downtown. Always able to sit on the deck and see a beautiful sunset, or gaze across Belmont at the beautiful homes on Scott Drive. No kidding, see for yourself.
Montavilla, Belmont, Hawthorne, Stark, Burnside... MANY restaurants, bars and shops close by, most walkable. Close to Providence hospitals, I-84 & I 205. Gateway transit & medical center. The Grotto.
Views from Living room, kitchen and deck, also from primary bedroom and jacuzzi deck when trees are limbed or lacking leaves.
On a bus line. Stairs to Belmont & Mt. Tabor Park nearby. Tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, covered picnic areas, all within a short walk. DOG PARK on the Division side of Mt. Tabor Park, should you wish to socialize your pet. Community Garden areas near the dog park by Lincoln St., should you wish to grow some tomatoes or cucumbers. Not far from public swimming pools, Franklin HS, Tabor Middle, Grant HS is pretty close. Tennis or Pickle Ball lessons? or just free courts, at least 4 courts lighted along 60th Ave., and walkable. I've done all this myself, I lived there 3 years, July 2019- July2022. Moved there from Montavilla so my Chocolate Lab Carlos could be closer, poor guy passed at 12 years old, right before moving into the house.
Rescued a Goldendoodle named Pupper and changed her name to Pepper. What's nice about the cul-de-sac gravel road is there is very little traffic, and it was almost never an issue for my neighbors or myself to let our dogs out without leash, as long as we kept an eye on them. Rescued a little black cat named Marcie, she set up an apartment for herself under the Western neighbor's driveway storage area, collected a few shrews. Front & back decks work well for hanging baskets. Stays pretty cool during the summer, with the volcano on the southern side providing shade.
Garage ceiling has bicycle hooks, for raising two bikes above the vehicles in the garage. Also have some shelving for pantry area, and an additional refrigerator with freezer in the garage. Fridge could be placed in basement if preferred. Some pegboard wall near bench nook. Attic access from garage for additional A/V wiring, if needed.
Arrive home on a Wednesday in the spring-fall, might hear a brass band or reggae in the caldera, practicing & sounding good. Sometimes it is a string band. Sometimes you follow the music toward the larger reservoirs and stumble into a family friendly rave!
Soap box derby races every August or September. Go hiking, biking, take your dog, shoot hoops or play racquet sports. Walk 100 yards and have a birthday party for your kid, with covered picnic tables and a playground. Excellent views of Mount Hood, Downtown, and depression era reservoirs.
NOT ADA accessible. Three decks, one on each floor. Small hot tub on the deck off the Primary Bedroom, very cozy for 1-3 adults after a long day. 2-car garage. Top floor has large deck, Living rm, Dining rm, Kitchen, and half-bath. Middle floor has two full bathrooms, 3 bedrooms and laundry. Finished basement has a large room for a home theater, pool table, etc. & with a small deck of its own, half bath, den, door to back porch.
Each floor has one gas fireplace, one in the living room on top floor, one in basement bonus room, ONE IN THE PRIMARY BEDROOM....JACUZZI TO FULL BATH TO FIREPLACE next to bed!
Forced air heating and A/C. All gas appliances. Ring doorbell in place, tenant will need to set it up for themselves. Google nest thermostat on the middle floor. Laundry machines are good Samsung or LG units and newer, one has very few hours. Well vented throughout, kitchen, laundry & baths. Hot/Cold utility sink adjacent to laundry machines. Nook in garage for work bench. Nook next to driveway for garbage and recycling cans. GFI Receptacle and hose bib on each deck, below home, at driveway.
Skylights. Roof and gutters to be professionally serviced by CLEAN SERVICES NORTHWEST, occasional skylight and window cleaning possible with split or waived fees, depending on how often you wish to have it serviced.
Come take a look at it any time you want. Fun Neighbors and surroundings, with depression era stonework stairways all around for short cuts. Even my dad used to throw snowballs at cars when he was a kid.
Many concerts and activities in the park, it's just below the Mt. Tabor Caldera and the welcome center of the park, just don't need to walk up so many steps! Bus lines for if/when it snows.
Three different trails that circle the park. Red, Blue and Green, 1-5 miles each. Some are steeper or more/less pavement., grab a free map and mix them together for whatever you like for your hike. Dog water available. Mountain biking permitted most areas. Playground, tetherball, restrooms, parking.
Lovely private home on a quiet dead-end street in an urban forest. Come live next to famous musicians and artists, decorate your new home during the Mt. Tabor Art walk every May.
Buy unique curios, art, furniture, and everything else you can think of at BoneJax. Also in Montavilla you can enjoy 1st & 2nd run movies at the Academy Theater, with the original Flying Pie Pizza delivered to your seats, along with bear from Montavilla brewery or the Beer Bunker. Yoga and Chiropractic across the street. Just great food and shops on both sides of Tabor, and you are directly in the middle with a public or private school as bookends.
Warning. I am a Buffalo Bills fan, I was almost as excited for Tinker Tavern to open with their Buffalo flag flying, as I was eagerly waiting to buy everything in Bonejax when they opened. While they do have Kokanee on draft and decently crispy wings, the servers have managed to turn me away. Thatcher's or Observatory, Beer Bunker, Redwood, Vintage, Over and Out, Flying Pie, the farmer's market, Pizzicato, literally every other option is less entitled and pretentious. Just letting you know.
Ya Halla has Portland's first and maybe only IRON CHEF as far as I know. Try every version of their Gyros and Shawarmas, fries are also good. Lebanese grocery store adjacent with the nicest mom-lady ever working the counter.
Year-Round Farmer's Market. Coquina is just two blocks away! Top of Hathorne, so Pizza Shoals, Space Room, Quarter World, just everything so close! Please hurry, I might move back in myself otherwise. Quarter world will deliver you pinball and arcade machines to the basement if you want some fun. Pool tables or Skee-ball.
Ciprianis for sandwiches. Miyamoto for Sushi, and they will trade sushi and spicy creole plus beer etc. through the wall with Roscoe's next door! Oregon Bike shop is a wonderful husban and wife, will fix your bike or build you a new one with love.
One year or 6 month leases available. Month to month after the first lease, or may just start with month to month, unless renter requests a full year extension. Renter pays ALL utilities. Pets and smoking permitted. All spa/hot tub supplies to be the responsibility of the renter.
