Hi there! We're looking for a great housemate to join our friendly and creative home in a fantastic vintage home. This is an owner-occupied home, meaning we prioritize finding the right fit and are not subject to Portland's "first-come, first-served" rental laws. We're excited to take the time to connect with potential housemates who resonate with our household. About Us & Our Home Vibe: My name is Ryan (he/him), and I'm the homeowner. I'm a creative professional working from home in the visual arts. My interests include nature, travel, practicing Spanish, learning, and spending time with my girlfriend. My current housemate, Jim (he/him), is warm, friendly, and works in video game development. He's into films, fitness, and hanging out. We're aiming to foster something more than just a business transaction: a comfortable, respectful, and inspiring place to live. We're looking for someone who is has stable employment and a mature mindset. Ideally, you're also a creative, interesting, active, and diverse individual who enjoys a balance of personal time and friendly interaction. The Room: You'll have a private, unfurnished bedroom on the southwest ground floor. This room is approximately 100 sq/ft with a freestanding wardrobe (but no closet) and windows facing both south and west. Rent includes utilities, electricity, gas, water/sewer, garbage, gigabit internet and housecleaning of common areas including dishes done by Jim! Shared Bathrooms. Private Bathroom Optional: For an additional $100/month, there's a possibility of having a private, unshared bathroom. Please inquire if interested. Note: We have a few other rooms that are also be available, including a $950/mo 170 sq/ft north-facing room (with a twin size nook bed included!) and a $950/mo 190 sq/ft south-facing room, and a $850/mo 156 sq/ft bedroom on the 2nd floor with a west facing-window. All on the 2nd floor with closets. Feel free to ask about these if the featured room isn't the perfect fit. I can make any room furnished with a bed for an additional $100/month (except the north facing room, it already includes a built-in bed in the nook!) Optional Add-On: Furnished Home Office! Need a dedicated workspace? For an additional $300/month (unfurnished) or $400/mo (furnished), you can also have exclusive use of a beautifully appointed 140 sq/ft ground-floor home office. This room features: Large north-facing bay windows providing excellent, consistent light. Charming craftsman styling, including a comfortable leather sofa, a standing/sitting power desk, and unique accent pieces. Elegant French doors leading to the entryway and versatile pocket doors that can open to the living room or be closed for complete privacy. This is the perfect turnkey solution for a productive and inspiring work-from-home setup! Location Perks: 1 block to a grocery store and bus stop. 4 blocks to the MAX (Red/Green/Blue lines), many great restaurants, coffee shops, and bars In-House: Clothes washer and dryer in the basement (no extra charge). Some Things to Be Aware Of: Ours is a charming older home, which means character, but also means sound and temperature insulation aren't always modern-best in every room.
