Available starting Sept 1st, this rental is the ground floor of a 2 story house. I, the owner of the house, live in a unit on the second floor. Because I live on the property, this rental is NOT subject to "first come, first serve" laws. I can take my time to pick renters who I like and who vibe well with the situation. Don't worry, this isn't some kind of "tenancy exchanged for special services (wink wink)" arrangement. Hopefully you are a creative, interesting, active, diverse, open-minded and kind person! At the very least, you must be the last two :)
My name is Ryan and I'm a creative professional working from home in the visual arts. I'm into nature, travel, speaking spanish, expanding my mind and enjoying good food. Upstairs with me, I have a roommate named Destry who is friendly and agreeable. He's into playing musical instruments, philosophy, DIY everything, and meeting every dog he sees. Ideally, we would like to foster something closer to a community than a business transaction. However, the rental does have locking doors and privacy, so you can always have that of course.
You get private: Living room, 2 Bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, fenced-in back/side yard, garage (slightly shared with some of our stuff), driveway, entry from back and side of house, 1 room in unfinished basement for storage/workshop/studio.
Shared with landlord: front porch, front entryway, laundry, basement workshop area and workout area.
Square footage of truly private indoor areas of the rental = 671 sq ft.
Square footage of storage in basement (which is not behind locked doors) = 100 sq ft.
Square footage of your half of shared entryway = 59 sq ft.
for a total of 830 sq ft. that is yours to use as you wish.
1 block to grocery store, bus stop. 4 blocks to MAX red/green/blue lines, restaurants, coffee shops, bars.
VERY quiet neighborhood. Wide street. Low traffic. LOTS of open parking.
Because lots of people don't actually read the listing before messaging, I only respond to requests that start with the phrase "remember, remember, the 1st of September"
Some things to be aware of: One of the bedrooms is really more of a flex room that COULD be a bedroom. Also, it's an older home so sound and temperature insulation isn't the best. I can provide space heaters for the winter.
Utilities will stay in my name: Natural gas, water, electric, internet, waste collection. $150/mo for the first occupant. $50/mo per each additional occupant.
Pet fee: $50/mo for one non-caged pet. $75/mo for two maximum.
I don't smoke cannabis but I don't mind if you do. No tobacco, however.
