    What's special

Hello. My name is Adam. I am renting the main floor of my 1920's craftsman style home with on street parking, located a 15 minute walk from downtown/university (10 minute bike ride to the hospitals), and 2 blocks from the bus line. I am an artist and live in my newly built barn studio in the backyard, and I also use the basement level of the house, which walks out to the backyard and has an independent entrance. The main floor is completely separate from the basement and has a locked door in between. The house is on a quiet dead end street with friendly neighbors (not a party neighborhood). In addition to the front porch, the backyard is fully landscaped with gardens, trees, and a large brick patio for all to enjoy. The house is furnished (unfurnished is negotiable), with the exception of the bedrooms. The kitchen comes with all appliances (gas stove, fridge, microwave) and equipment (dishes, cooking supplies, etc). The bathroom has the original claw-foot tub from 1920. Laundry is on-site, and the house has central heat/air. I am the owner and have lived here for 12 years. Utilities (water/sewer, gas/electric, and wifi average about $180-250/month. My new studio space has its own electrical meter, but since I use the same water/sewer and wifi, as well as electricity in the basement, I will pay half the utilities. I'm a professional artist who has worked in Iowa City for many years and I teach at Kirkwood Community College and work at the Lasansky Gallery & Studio. The house is filled with original works of art by local artists that you are welcome to enjoy, or that I am happy to take down, or swap out. I have had wonderful experiences with tenants over 10 years and am seeking someone who will really enjoy the character and peacefulness of the house, neighborhood, and yard. Please feel free to contact me to ask any question, and we can set up a time to view the house (given ongoing events, video tours are, of course, available). Also considering Aug 1 leases
