At the very end of Walnut Street, you're a two minute walk to Bakery Square or about a 10-15 minute walk or three minute Uber down to all of the Walnut or Ellsworth restaurants and bars. This is a very quiet area in Shadyside, I never hear any late night noise that you might get being further down Walnut. I am the current tenant but moving out early to get closer to my work (rough commute to my new job). The landlord is aware and is allowing me to look for someone to take on a new lease at the apartment. The lease will either be for one year or through July 31, 2016 if you desire a shorter lease. I looked at four apartments in this price range in Shadyside before leasing this one and this was by far the best one. It has a ton of updates for a Shadyside apartment and has a TON of windows. Lots of closet space, also rare around here. It's a top floor corner unit of a three floor building. Has nice views. -Kitchen has brand new floor, counters, stove, backsplash. New ceiling fan in living room. Ceiling fans in every room. -There is a garage under the building you can get wait-listed for, but this end of Walnut needs NO city parking permit and parking has never been an issue for me. I'm usually within 50' of the front door, worst case I've had to park two blocks away (that's literally happened 2-3 times in my six months here). -Central a/c, dishwasher, secure building/intercom -Washer/dryer in basement, storage locker in basement -Rent includes gas (free heat), water, trash. Only pay for electric and cable/internet The normal rental rate is $1200/mo. I am personally paying $200/mo through Marsh 2017 (I will pay a one time check to the landlord to cover this). You will pay $1000 per month through March and then $1200 starting in April. I am doing this because it is harder to rent units in the winter and I'm trying to move closer to my office almost an hour away.
