Partitioned from the original 200 acre AD Shull property which formed the town that eventually became West Columbia, the original owner/occupants were Thomas and Sedecia Kannaday. (Mr. Kannady was a stationary engineer in the dawn of the electrical age). 630 Shull is a Carolina I-house with first and second floor porches, a rear single story gabled extension, and 5 fire places- The superior air and light offered by an I-house was the sign of a family doing well. Original interior features include Coved beadboard , Birch floors in the parlor and dining room and Old Growth Heart Pine in the other rooms, Wainscoting, and fancy balustrade on the stairs.
