    What's special

South Minneapolis - Central Neighborhood, Four Blocks from Powderhorn Park $805 1 Bedroom 730 SF Price includes all utilities except individual unit electric, phone and cable Available March 1st, 2023 Modest one bedroom, 3rd floor walk up, apartment in classic 100-yr. old solid brick building. You will have free use of laundry machines and cardio/strengthening fitness equipment in the basement. We have a big backyard with garden space and a playground in backyard. Sorry, no dogs; cats (up to two) are OK. The co-op is a smoke-free property. This is a quiet, family-oriented building and has operated successfully as a self-managed co-op since 1977. All adult occupants (there are 13 units in the building) become members of the board of directors and are required to participate actively in decision-making and building up-keep. Monthly board meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Thursday evening of every month and are mandatory. You will also be expected to serve on two of the co-op's five standing committees. Work requirements (AKA sweat equity) are 2 hours per month doing chores such as shoveling snow, cleaning the laundry room, or cutting grass; there are also two 4-hour community workdays per year. Your participation is what makes this such an affordable place to live. You, as a member of the co-op board, have a real voice in decisions about the budget and policies; there is no "land -lord." We are looking for mature, motivated people interested in making a long-term commitment to helping us make our co-op work well for everyone. Prior experience with democratic decision-making in a co-op or other nonprofit organization is not required but is a real plus, as is business or building maintenance experience. BIPOC and single parent households are encouraged to apply. To Apply please visit: parkcooperativeapartments.wordpress (dot) com/application-for-membership. There is no fee for applying.
