This is a structurally very solid home in one of the city's best neighborhoods. The roof was completely redone in November, 2018, with storm resistant shingles. When neighbor's basements get standing water, this basement gets a little damp, but no water. Because the house is brick underneath the siding, it remains cool in the summer. The sewers and water main to the house were replaced when the street was redone and the driveway apron and sidewalks replaced in 2017. A new shade tree between the sidewalk and the street was planted by the city in 2018. This house has one of the largest backyards in the neighborhood, and that is one reason we bought the house, due to its large fenced yard for our dogs. Over the years, we have counted 40 different species of birds in the backyard at feeders and the bird bath. This home has one of the few attached (actually built-in) garages in this entire neighborhood, with access just off the basement stairs.
