High ceilings and large windows - it is bright, airy, and open. Includes a large front porch, a back deck overlooking a lush green canopy, and a Juliette balcony off of the master suite. Note, the basement apartment is used occasionally by the owners. The owners use a separate entrance at the back of the house. There are no common areas or shared surfaces. COVID: We have implemented a very strict cleaning protocol set by our county, which is more advanced than CDC guidelines. This including sanitizing all surfaces, washing all bedspreads, and requiring a 24 waiting period between departing guests, the cleaners, and the arriving guests. City of Asheville Regulations: The City of Asheville requires a minimum of a 30 night stay for homes rented with full kitchens or homes with more than two bedrooms or rentals that do not have a host on-site each night. Guests have full access and privacy of the front porch, home, back deck, and Juliette balcony. The owners walk on a path around the outside of the house to the backyard to access the basement apartment. The owners only visit occasionally. The guests do not have access to the basement apartment. There are no shared inside or outside living spaces. Location Location Location! We are located in the Montford neighborhood a short walk to downtown Asheville. The neighborhood represents homes of many architectural styles, many of which were constructed in the late 1800s and early 1900s. A portion of Montford is a Nationally Registered Historic District. There are three neighborhood eateries, which include Nine Mile (Caribbean cuisine), Chiesa (rustic Italian), and All Day Darling (casual breakfast/lunch/dinner). The Asheville Visitor's Center is in Montford and only a 5-minute walk from our house. New Belgium Brewery and River Arts District (RAD) are less than 2 miles away, West Asheville is 3 miles, and Biltmore Estate is about 5 miles down the road. We are available for recommendations regarding Asheville sites, restaurants, etc. or any other guidance, if requested. We love Asheville and want your stay to be easy and enjoyable. We are happy to help you make the most of your visit. Many visitors walk, drive, bike, or Uber around town. You can also bike to West Asheville, the River Arts District, UNCA's campus, and New Belgium Brewing. Various tour companies offer bus, walking, segway, and even pubcycle tours! The Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) is a 15-minute drive to our house. Asheville is in the mountains therefore the city is hilly, everywhere. The downtown is hilly, the Montford neighborhood is hilly, and the walk from our home to downtown is hilly. Owner pays all utilities including internet. Security deposit of $1,000 required. Lease is a minimum of 30-nights and maximum of 2 months. Property is available November 5 through mid-January. The tenant/guest must notify the owners of the length of their lease in advance. No pets, no parties, no smoking or vaping. Public parking on Houston Street, usually there are 1-2 spots available directly in front of the home. This home is lived-in so while it is very clean, it is not immaculate. Guests can expect the personality and charm of a loved home...books on the shelves, plants, spices & food in the cupboards, and household supplies in the cabinets & drawers. Dressers are emptied for guests and closets are half-empty for guests. Please make yourself at home!
