Back, sometime between 1865 and 1875, this ''gothic farm house'' was constructed. After many families, the house went vacant sometime in the 1980's. Jack bought in 1997, but ran out of money so he sold it to Ron and Tammy in 1998. Ron and Tammy proceeded to carefully take the house apart down to the framework on the inside--interesting construction like a pole barn but not so regular. Ron and Tammy conserved everything they could and custom fabricated pieces where the original materials were suspect. They kept windows, doors and floors, but put in all new electric, plumbing, HVAC, septic and well. George and Ann bought the ''new old'' house in 1999. They have now moved into an early 20th century house in New Buffalo. They priced it at $199,000 so it would sell instantly.
